The Record
SDS founded the Radical Education Project to supply a common syllabus. A mass student organisation had no other way to get one. The Project commissioned, reprinted and mailed pamphlets and reading lists to chapters across the country.
REP belongs in this record because transmission is the subject. A doctrine held in a few graduate seminars is not yet a movement. It becomes one when somebody prints it cheaply and posts it. REP is the point where the Frankfurt and Third World material became something an undergraduate in Ohio could hold.
