Read against the Palgrave Macmillan first edition on the archive shelf, printed page 168, PDF page 176, under the running head 'NOTES'. Note 7 belongs to chapter 4, 'Multicultural Education and Antiracist Education in the United States and the United Kingdom'. The words quoted are McLaren's, but they reach the archive only through Cole, who sources them to 'personal correspondence, 2002, cited in Cole, 2005'. The correspondence itself is unpublished and the archive has not seen it, so anything resting on this passage is reported and never documented. The ellipses are Cole's.

Its value to this archive is the endnote at page 168 quoting unpublished 2002 correspondence from McLaren about his turn to Marx, which is McLaren's own words reaching us only through Cole.
