Governance finding

The Society was a distinct sponsoring and governing body for the Institute. The 9 December 1935 Vereinsregister dissolution entry supports registered legal existence. The exact 1923 founding form, statute text, endowment custody, board composition, and officer terms remain pending.

Director authority

The Prussian state formally appointed the director, while the Society's agreement was required. By 1930 the wording had been strengthened from consultation to agreement. This is a consent or veto power, not proof that the Society performed the state's appointment act.

Reported membership

Wiggershaus reports Hermann and Felix Weil in chairmanship roles and Gerlach, Richard Sorge, Max Horkheimer, and Käte Weil among the small membership. Exact dates and voting activity require the original register and minutes.

Frankfurt founding-circle dossier

Registered society sponsoring the Weil foundation. The Weils chaired it; the Prussian director appointment required its agreement. It governed and financed the Institute but was not identical to the research staff.
