Working definition from the source

A protracted revolutionary strategy for Western societies whose dense civil institutions make a rapid frontal seizure insufficient. It requires mass organization, hegemony, patience, and national reconnaissance of the terrain.

Role in the Long Insurgency

This concept is part of the opening intellectual architecture. Later transmission, adoption, and implementation must be established through separate relationship evidence.

Current limits

The prison notebooks are fragmentary and Gramsci's terminology develops across different notes. Avoid reducing the concept to a slogan.

Chronology repair
