Selections from the Prison Notebooks , Letters from Prison . SPN, pp. 55–56 (editors' note reproducing a prison letter), 237–239; PDF pp. 150–151, 332–334. The institutional examples were also checked in Gramsci's letter to Tatiana Schucht of September 7, 1931, in Letters from Prison, selected, translated and introduced by Lynne Lawner (Quartet Books, 1979; translation copyright 1973), letter 57, printed pp. 203–205, especially 204; PDF pp. 110–111. This selected letter begins with an editorial omission. The whole printed selection and its notes were read; the unabridged letter has not been collated. The examples come from the letter, rather than the war-of-position passage itself.
