The title page, copyright page, and cited evidence pages were visually inspected. The held scan is not the first 1971 printing. It is the 11th printing from 1992 of the first edition published in 1971.

Publication history

The notebooks were composed between 1929 and 1935. The first Italian thematic edition appeared in six volumes from 1948 through 1951. Valentino Gerratana's chronological critical edition followed in 1975. The Hoare and Nowell Smith English selection first appeared in 1971.
