1. Theodor W. Adorno joined the Institute’s American research work in 1938, alongside his radio-project duties. 2. Adorno worked with Lazarsfeld in the Princeton Radio Research Project, directing its music study while Lazarsfeld directed research. 3. Adorno directed the music study for the Princeton Radio Research Project after his arrival in America in 1938. 4. Davis recalled a late meeting with her teacher Adorno, between the 1966 founding of the Black Panther Party and her summer 1967 return to America, when he discouraged combining philosophy with activism. 5. Horkheimer and Adorno jointly wrote Dialectic of Enlightenment, including its account of the culture industry. 6. Max Horkheimer became Institute director under an October 1930 contract and gave his opening lecture on January 24, 1931. 7.
